For older generations return to The Amiri/Amirkhani/Elahi/Khosrovani/Tavakoli Family of Mahallat

V. Arbab Haj Ali Asghar Khan, Lord (Khan) of Aliabad and Behjatabad, landowner in Mahallat, owner of three castles and five villages with their castles, and the ghanat-systems called Ghanat Aliabad, Ghanat-e Bagh-e Pain and the Ghanat Behjatabad, restored the Friday Mosque of Mahallat and built the mosque of Mahallat-e Ghaleh Kiab, died and buried Mahallat; he married 1st N.N.; he married 2ndly N.N.; he married 3rdly Fatemeh Khanoum (Amiri), daughter of Agha Esmail.

Arbab Haj Ali Asghar (Hajji Arbab) was a deeply respected and loved person in the Mahallat area. He was one of the smartest children of his father and in the family and he had a broad knowledge about geology and agriculture. Together with his father he built the mosque and hamam of the Mahallat-e Ghaleh Kiab neighbourhood and together with his brother Arbab Mohammad Hashem he finished the building of the Ghaleh No castle started by their father. He also built two other castles, one to the east of Ghaleh Amir Khan and one to the south. The building of the last one was started 1299 qamari (1881/1882), but not finished when he died. He had a reputation for his ability to find water and stone mines. He built the ghanats of Aliabad, Bagh-e Pain and Behjatabad with his own money. The ghanats of Kouh-e Sefid and ... Bala he built together with his brother Arbab Mohammad Hashem and Haj Sayah. As a result of this ghanat building he was able to found 4 or 5 villages. He was an important advisor of Zel os-Soltan, who came to visit him once or twice a year. He helped Zel os-Soltan building ghanats in Nimwar and other villages.

Arbab Haj Ali Asghar, together with his brother Arbab Mohammad Hashem, were responsible for the safety of the area and the roads. He united the people of Mahallat under his command. Once a group of 1.400 armed horsemen atacked Mahallat, but they had to withdraw because of the fierce resistance put up by Hajji Arbab and his soldiers. Later the bandits captured two men travelling to Khomein and they had asked these men "how many armed horsemen are under the command of this Hajji Arbab? There must be really many, because we had to withdraw!" The two men aswered: "All the men of Mahallat are fighting under the command of Hajji Arbab."

Like his grandfather Haj Amir Khan he used to entertain the important people travelling the roads on the way to Esfahan, Qom or Ab-e Garm, and he had good facilities to do so.

Arbab Haj Ali Asghar restored the Friday Mosque of Mahallat. He died over a hundred years old, leaving some of his properties as vaghf.
