The Ministry of Interior had put him under pressure for paying more for his governorship and at the same time there were some people in Mahllat who envied his position and that of his family. These people forged a letter to government. Government assigned the head of the Gendarmerie in Qom, a Swedish man, to investigate the matter. His translator, the famous Lahouti, was friends with the opponents of Haj Mirza Ahmad Khan. After their arrest Haj Mirza Ahmad Khan and his sons sent an official complaint to Tehran and for the legal proceedings they had to go to Tehran. Since that time they lived in Tehran, while some of their wives and children stayed behind in Mahallat.

In Mahallat he is, 70 years after his death, still much respected for his benevolent character. In the time of the big drought during the First World War when so many people in Iran suffered from famine, he gave the order to slaughter his own animals and give the meat to the people of Mahallat and he ordered and payed all the shops to open and give supplies freely to the people.
